It’s walking around with the sword of the spirit that would make me nervous. Knowing me I’m liable though to fall on my own sword rather than hurt someone.
funny how many people seem to miss the subversive side to the stuff about armour and weaponry. they don’t get that this is what we wear rather than normal armour… and they get all alpha male (even the women do) about weilding all this stuff and they take it as license to have attitude and be aggressive. some people perhaps should be banned from reading certain bits of the bible.
I’m not at all alpha male, jb. Perhaps omega female would be nearer the mark. I’m a big jessie (coward), as we say in Scotland. The thing that’s always bothered me about the armour of God is that there’s no armour for the back of you – the breastplate and shield are clearly for the front – and the reason is that we’re not supposed to be retreating!

you’re right annedroid… but it is an analogy and we’re supposed to be advancing with grace, mercy, justice and faith etc… i wonder whether we should add the ‘backplate of cowardice’ to the list… i can often be seen in that.

yep dennis… he’d have had awful trouble with the belt of truth… but he’d hardly tell you that would he, what with being such an untrustworthy fellow.
