hey dennis… i lost all emails that were in my basket… i remember you sent me one just before the computer death, but have no idea what the link was. please feel free to resend.
i’m intrigued by ‘making podiums’ idea… must go and look.
stumpy… when have i ever stopped you coming and going as you please.

This cartoon is flipping brilliant! It prompted me as well to look at the Naked Pastor’s blog for the first time. Thanks again Jon for brightening up my day
you can send your characters over here any time nakedpastor. there is a short interview for them to go through but it only comprises of one question… ‘are you easy to draw?’ if the answer is ‘yes’, then they have a job.
thanks hayles… hope you liked np’s blog. he says lots of challenging, interesting and honest stuff and i’m a big fan of his cartoons. some of them are very poignant indeed.
That might improve the appearance of some of us though Jon! Actually, I wouldn’t mind looking like the one exiting the frame ‘cos he just looks so relaxed and happy
And that’s just for starters. If he thinks he gets stuck in too many ASBO cartoons profiling god-awful worship music, he’ll have a nervous breakdown when he sees what Naked Pastor will put him through.
And I’m not sure those Canadian cartoons can deal with the political issues that ASBO cartoon characters should be used to by now. :-)
More importantly – how would the B/W cartoons feel about being in color and vice-versa?
I tell you, the clientele / readership over there won’t cut him any slack! Lots of being divided by swords. He might not be able to come back, even if he wanted to. Grass is always greener…
ooh… hmmm… interesting… i think i’d put them at joint number 1. given free will was first on god’s agenda i wouldn’t relegate it… but then it is grace that allows us free will and forgiveness, so maybe grace is number 1.
i guess what i’m getting at is that we’re born with free will. grace and forgiveness are things we need as a result of how we exercise that gift often.
A bit late in the day for a response, but I just had to let you know that I think this one is inspired, Jon – even better than your usual high standard.
Does that include all us asbo-er sthat you have created too?!

“I’ve given up believing that there is a cartoonist” – Priceless
This is one of the coolest strips I’ve read, not only ASBO Jesus.
…oh, and I hope it is OK to use this on wednesday, when I’ll be talking about (among things) free will?

Jon,
Go easy on those nude cartoons. It seems that you are wearing them down. Everybody needs a break.

I don’t think the one that is leaving was particularly good at his job anyway…he just looked the part.
Give him a couple of months and he’ll be here grovelling for his job back, prodigal that he is!

-Free Will…the 2nd greatest gift one can give his creations.
-Forgiveness for all the terrible decisions made with free will…the greatest gift one can give his creations.

Jon, I reckon freewill and forgiveness are both sides of the coin of love – which is the greatest gift
Love’s Endeavour, Love’s Expense by W Vanstone is a really good book exploring these themes – well worth a read.
