Destruction is always easier than construction.
Maybe they need a different army now – one with people trained for peace. People whose training is in war will often have the wrong approach to some tasks.
Sweeping statement:
Just don’t go to war in the first place.
Loving the soldiers!
Easier said than done, but don’t forget to give all the reconstruction projects to your mates so they can make bundles of cash at the losers expense!
I think our chaps have done as good a job as possible and we should get off their backs… I am sick of people bashing our services.
They are used as a tool by the polititians then idiots take there frustrations with the polititions out on the troops.
Rubbish!
do you think that the problem might start with that little word:
‘win’?
Good point @#7!
BTD #6 Not sure if your referring to my comment but I said nothing about the squaddies.
i think it might, caroline too.
i have friends who served in iraq… i have respect for them.
met a guy, very early twenties… his life has been ruined due to mental health issues caused by his time in iraq. lovely lad… shot someone in a ‘them or us’ situation. the price is massive. i will not place the blame at the feet of people like this.
the problem in this cartoon is not the soldiers, it’s the man in the suit.
for a mo. Jon, I thought you’d been spying on us, thats just like our church! – except there’s only 4 people left now (I put it down to the damage caused by judgmental comments, but there so enjoyable)
I agree with the squadies thing. They’ve done us and themselves proud.
Generals gather in their masses,
Just like witches at black masses…
Fighting for peace is like… what?
Is he takin’ the peace?
in Iraq, as I understand it, Halliburton and other American construction and security companies have won the peace!
I saw a programme at Christmas which went out and visited a vast forces emcampment, I think it was in Afghanistan rather than Iraq though I may be mistaken. They spoke to a woman driver. She was about 19. I felt quite emotional because I have two daughters, one 15 and the other 23. I still think of them as my babies (much to their annoyance!) but I thought how vulnerable and yet courageous she was and indeed all our soldiers. There’s no way I would be so brave.
@jonbirch, I love you.
@Eric #2: “People whose training is in war will often have the wrong approach to some tasks.” You’ve hit the nail on the head man!
@Carol #13 – good one!
