  6. Have looked a pictures of model, and live-steam miniature, railroad exhibitions all over the planet and thought about how we’re all doing the same thing, “playing trains”, visiting, snacking, and yet, the most of us from all the different places wouldn’t be able to converse.

  9. am so aware of needing different things to others, it seems people are saying ‘that was amazing’, when I found it embarrassing and boring, does anyone have any answers other than just leave the groups I’ve been involved with and look for new stuff?

    Comment by subo — October 9, 2009 @ 12:18 pm

  10. Sorry, Subo, I don’t.
It can be (“can be”??) quite frustrating to have that.

    Comment by Forrest — October 9, 2009 @ 12:23 pm

  11. Subo – I think that quite a bit of ‘Emperor’s New Clothes-ing’ goes on sometimes. Maybe there are others about in your church set-up who feel equally embarrased or bored but don’t feel free to say so?

  13. cheers Forrest and Pat, good to get your kind words today, and maybe there’s a nugget in what you say

it’s good to cherish the enjoyment I get from the openness and honesty on asbo, there’s a lot of respect here

  18. ‘Maybe there are others about in your church set-up who feel equally embarrased or bored but don’t feel free to say so?’

Well who’s stopping them? There’s no compulsion to go around saying something is ‘amazing’ and being revoltingly enthusiastic if that’s not how they feel. I think they probably just convince themselves or are highly impressionable.

  19. “it’s good to cherish the enjoyment I get from the openness and honesty on asbo, there’s a lot of respect here.” yes there is, subo… and that’s very much down to the likes of yourself. thanks. :-)

  30. oh la, our times up folk, just found this on the BBC web page

Johnson to get tough over Asbos
    Hoodie

More than half of people given ASBOs do not obey them

More trouble makers who break anti-social behaviour orders (Asbos) will be tracked down and prosecuted, Home Secretary Alan Johnson is to pledge

going back to the cartoon, do these guys both get their shoes from Jones?, they remind me of playing ’snap’ when someone else turned up in matching kit at sch.

  34. But I only got this hoody two days ago :(

    Comment by Robb — October 13, 2009 @ 2:57 pm

  35. Hoodies should be banned under an Anti-Style Behaviour Order!

I do think it’s a bit much when three year olds are asked to take their hood down when they go in a shop.

Mmm, lovely red sky tonight – more sitting on the balcony tomorrow. Octobers like this I can cope with.

    Comment by Tiggy — October 13, 2009 @ 5:31 pm

  36. Too bad Robb – and it was such a fetching shade of mauve as well :-p

    Comment by Pat — October 13, 2009 @ 6:38 pm

  37. I keep thinking that man is going to say ‘We are the same age, we live next door to each other and have similar size penises.’

    Comment by jonbirch — October 14, 2009 @ 10:47 am

  40. The only people I’ve seen looking good in a hood are Kylie Minogue and that woman off the Scottish Widows advert. And small children of course.
