hey there everyone…
thank you so much for all the kind comments, well wishes and offers of support. it really is appreciated.
it’s been three weeks since the burglary and i’m now starting to make headway. it takes a bit of getting used to, this starting again business… but that’s what i’m doing. sorry to have been out of touch for a while, but there’s been quite a bit to sort out. each day you find something else you need that’s no longer there. i have just begun work again and hope to be up-to-date with all that within a few weeks. that’ll be a nice feeling.
i have lost all the original asbo cartoons. thanks to those of you who said they’ve saved them etc… yup they all exist in the format in which you see them on line, but it’s the original files that have gone. which means that it’s just low resolution image files which remain. never mind… it’s a good record.
the good news is… i have a clean sheet. with everything gone i can choose what projects to pick back up and what to lay to rest. it reminds me of when i was 30 years old and i turned up at clare’s flat with just two cardboard boxes to show for my life thus far. along with the sense of loss there was a sense of freedom and a new beginning. that was fifteen years ago and my life now is vastly better than it was before… so, there are plenty of reasons to be positive, even if some days i don’t see it.
i’m not done with asbo just yet. there are plenty of things to say, plenty of discussions to have and plenty of reasons to continue. the main reason being you lot, of course. thanks for the support over the past months and years, it has surprised and delighted me often and i hope i’ve never taken it for granted.
so… here’s to a brighter tomorrow and to new beginnings!
jx

may your new beginning be a wonderful renaissance.
your loving audience awaits!
You can’t keep a good man down…

Every Blessing in your new beginnings.
Hurrah, Hallelujah, and big hugs.
You can’t keep a good man down: welcome back!
Whatever the burglars may have stolen, they couldn’t take your talent — nor your spirit. Do please keep going — the world needs people like you. I mean it.
And an aside — now I know how old you are. This will help me to identify you at Greenbelt.
oh poor me blah, blah, blah, lost everything, blah, blah, blah, new start blah, blah, blah, brighter tomorrow blah, blah, blah. Quit whinging and get on with it!
Good to see that you are on the come back trail, Jon!
Truly, we are blessed to see you again.
New life begins in the graveyard eh? Well there’s a good precedent for that I guess! So here’s to the green shoots
Jon – I have the high res. files of the cartoons that are in the book. I can send them to you if you’d like.
Jon – shoot me an email as I’m traveling and might not get the word otherwise.
Yeah! Good to see you back.
Welcome back.
So glad you’re back, Jon. Can’t wait to see what this new beginning brings your way.
Lots of love

all the best Jon, good to load up asbo and find this engaging conversation
our lives are forged out of the grit & grist – whatever that is, it’s something about our pain and ability to celibrate being equally important
& looking forward to some more pics
Resurrection to a new life – that’s like some kind of Christian theme isn’t it?
Re: “i’m not done with asbo just yet.”
Hey, mate, we’re a long, long, ways from done with you.
Great to see you back Jon.
It’s good to see you back Jon. May God bless you double what you have lost.
Jon,
After reading this I said a quick prayer for you and your road to recovery. I Pray that you might recover the tangible and learn to handle the feelings of violation. Not sure which will be harder. I have a feeling that God will use this experience to encourage others. Just a thought.
SO glad to see you back and sounding hopeful. Thats great news and I hope you go at a pace thats good for you. x
bob on!
Hey Jon still thinking of you mate hope things are sorting themselves out for u now.
Hi there handsome – heard about the disaster via the Bath & West Evening Chronicle of all places…
The attitude of starting with a clean sheet is a good one and is exactly how I’d be looking at this… and I know that you’re not the kind of person to hang on to everything anyway. Onwards & upwards etc… and if you need more Tears for Fears then just give me the nod! Big man-type kisses!
I admire your tenacity Jon I really do.
Thanks for blessing me with your writings.
