this one resonates with me today as i was the person perceived to have taken the yard
kim… presumably, the other person was less than clear. remember, you haven’t taken the yard, it is just as you say, someone else’s perception. hope it resolves sweetly.
I probably did take the yard – but I really thought it was being offered. Have retreated and will just take the millimetre instead for a while now. Thanks for being kind Jon. Misunderstandings are so easy and yet take so long to get to the bottom of.

at least when noticing the missing yard, he didn’t go on to reprimand himself for somehow making it happen – or is it only women who think they are to blame for the way others treat them?
talking of women finding themselves taken for a ride by others – has anyone read Harmony Dust’s book ‘Scars and Stilettos’, I think this should be obligatory reading for all church ministers
