I thought he would have more trouble with the belt of truth.

  2. dorsey says:

    In his dreams…
    : )

  3. Susan says:

    Is his nose growing?

  4. ben says:

i thought it was the nose that was speaking

  5. jonbirch says:

yep dennis… he’d have had awful trouble with the belt of truth… but he’d hardly tell you that would he, what with being such an untrustworthy fellow. :-)

  6. becky says:

It’s walking around with the sword of the spirit that would make me nervous. Knowing me I’m liable though to fall on my own sword rather than hurt someone. :-)

  7. Carole says:

I know someone who has a rather large sword of truth and takes it EVERYWHERE…even work.

  8. Carole says:

Oops sorry – sword of the spirit…I didn’t do Sunday school. :)

  9. becky says:

Carole – I didn’t either – I know this only because fundies love to ram with their armour ALL the time.

  10. jonbirch says:

funny how many people seem to miss the subversive side to the stuff about armour and weaponry. they don’t get that this is what we wear rather than normal armour… and they get all alpha male (even the women do) about weilding all this stuff and they take it as license to have attitude and be aggressive. some people perhaps should be banned from reading certain bits of the bible. :-)

  11. AnneDroid says:

I’m not at all alpha male, jb. Perhaps omega female would be nearer the mark. I’m a big jessie (coward), as we say in Scotland. The thing that’s always bothered me about the armour of God is that there’s no armour for the back of you – the breastplate and shield are clearly for the front – and the reason is that we’re not supposed to be retreating!

  12. Robb says:

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh… that’s why the people inside the church keep wounding me!

  13. jonbirch says:

you’re right annedroid… but it is an analogy and we’re supposed to be advancing with grace, mercy, justice and faith etc… i wonder whether we should add the ‘backplate of cowardice’ to the list… i can often be seen in that. :-)

  14. AnneDroid says:

#13 Robb – that’ll be what they call friendly fire. A minister I know has just finished telling me about today’s hit!

  16. Freya says:

  17. jonbirch says:
