There’s a lot to be said for not fixing stuff that isn’t broken.
But we should also offer friends opportunities to open up.

  2. jonbirch says:

i agree with both of those sentences.

  3. jonbirch says:

btw… both of these mates are no longer social workers and the cartoon scenario never happened… but i’ve seen it many a time, but again, not from these people. :-)

  4. goodfield says:

Do you always have a bottle of beer for breakfast? I think we should be told. :-)

  5. jonbirch says:

goodfield… haha! you need to sort out the colours on your monitor. it’s ketchup… i always have tomato sauce with my full english!

  6. soniamain says:

beats meeting with a friend for a coffee when you know she will tell you off! :)

  7. johnfom says:

Ahh, see. You invoked the secret code. F.I.N.E. = Feeling Insecure, Needing Encouragement. ;)

  8. subo says:

    ….. at least someone asked

  9. mittlivogis says:

Those guys should meet me. They would never dare to ask again after the horror of listening to how I “really” feel. People who ask these kind of questions usually count on the courtesy of the other person to answer: “I’m fine, really”. But not me. You asked for it, now you have to listen.

  10. Laura says:

I think they are both just quite jealous of your hair do.

  11. jonbirch says:

yup, that must be it, laura! :-)

  12. Sarah says:

    I like your spikey hair.

  13. Dawn says:

I am a social work student, and i get annoyed at this practice.

  14. buzz says:

i am a counsellor and it comes with the territory.

  15. janetp says:

Johnfom: the version I was told is rather less elegant …… ;0)

  16. janetp says:
